Can you do high impact movements and burpees while pregnant?Updated a year ago

High impact movements like running, jumping, and skipping are generally safe during pregnancy, unless your healthcare provider has told you otherwise.

We recommend you ask them at your next prenatal appointment.

When you reach the end of second trimester and move into third, high impact moments may become less comfortable. This is because your extra weight and shift in center of mass will create new stress on your joints.

At this point, we recommend you gravitate to lower impact movements that feel more comfortable in your body. There are lots of effective and safe lower impact exercise options to keep you feeling fit and strong.

Burpees are not recommended at all stage of pregnancy because you don't want to impact your belly to the floor.

Avoid 'bumping the bump' to keep you and baby safe. Same goes for movements like box jumps where you might be at risk of falling.

If you need more movement guidance you can join our prenatal movement program, which has tons of workouts and movement sessions for every day and stage of your pregnancy!
